Te Kuiti High School A Reserve Netball Team - Rough Cut Jemz
My netball dream is...
Te Kuiti High School A Reserve Netball Team - Rough Cut Jemz is a team of girls aged 14-17 years old. These girls play netball weekly in the Maniapoto Netball Competition Premiere Reserve grade in Te Kuiti.
They also play weekly at the Otorohanga Netball Centre, in the A Grade Competition.
A Majority of this team 7/10 played together last year and also attended the Kurangaituku Netball Tournament in Rotorua for Secondary School teams. Our girls gained a lot from this experience playing teams from other Australia and NZ Secondary Schools.
We hope to attend the Kurangatuku Tournament again this year, however our priority this year is to attend the INTERNATIONAL NETBALL FESTIVAL IN CHRISTCHURCH (INF) Thursday 26th Sept-Thursday 3rd Oct 2019.
The INF run this tournament each year in Australia, Fiji & NZ in the School holidays.
After some consultation with player's and family last year, Coach Tui Anderson & I Renee Gill, Manager, decided not to go overseas to play as a number of the girls were only 13 years old & some of the older girl's would be sitting exams in late 2019.
We will be driving down to Christchurch, crossing the Cook Strait Ferry with two mini vans and a total of 17 people, including Coach, Manager and Parent support.
This trip will cost our team over $16,500. Which divided amoungst the 17 of us would mean $971.70 per person. This is a large amount of money for each individual to have to come up with, so we have decided to fundraise together as a team. Our forecast budget includes entry fee ($1000), Ferry crossing ($1080), accommodation ($6885), food ($4760), fuel/Vehicle ($2794).
We are yet to confirm the cost for the our last nights accomodation at Kokiri Marae in Wellington.
Our team has been working well with fundraising & have successfully raised $7857.80 so far. This includes $3,400 a $200 deposit each person has paid as a commitment to the team/trip. We require a further $8661.20 to go, so we are almost half way here with just under 4 months to go.
Fundraising so far included 2 nights stock-take at The Warehouse. Organising a Quizz night, selling food & beverages, an auction and raffles. We have also volunteered at a local working bee to give thanks to our community. We cleaned exterior windows for a multi story building and helped set up a book fair. We will have a disco, BBQ, hangi and sell firewood too for fundraising. We would be very great full for any assistance you maybe able to offer us. Thank you.
