My netball dream is...
Netball for Wairoa girls is steeped in a long history, it has gone from huge home competition to now having to travel every week over 100 km to play the game they love. They don't complain and take it in their stride as it's just something they have to do to play the game they enjoy and compete at a level that provides them with aspirations and goals. It seems there is a neverending cycle of fundraising for both girls and their parents/whanau to get these girls from Wairoa to where they need to be. With Lower North Island competition coming up the pressure is huge and the financial strain on families in our small town is tough going with each girl having to find $630 each to get there. People in Wairoa are very giving and want nothing more than to see these girls do well at a National level. So with all our raised funds going towards getting places to play, the pot is exhausted for other things like uniforms, and specialist training specific to their style and positions. Any help from ANZ would be appreciated.
