My netball dream is...
ANZ, Our Stepping Stone needs your Stepping Stone
Netball in New Zealand is made up of large club teams but also a multitude of smaller teams brought together by community, work, family or friendship. Our master’s players have brought together a group of young players, who are returning from injury, from college sport, and after being committed to studying. The encouragement and financial help from the master’s players will enabled these players to reconnect with netball.
But we also need a stepping stone. We need to purchase uniforms and subsidise entry fees, to encourage these younger, less financial players, back into the game. We will play in an indoor league, kinder on the body for our masters players. This is more expensive to enter.
The age of our players are: 60, 60, 57, 42, 41, 25, 27, 23 and 17 years old.
We have entered the local Morrinsville Netball Club "A" grade competition, where we expect to be competitive and enjoy a good level of netball.
Our master’s players have for many years organised teams, coached, umpired, been on committees and lobbied local council to improve facilities for netball.
Masters players also help run a Ladies Daytime Netball league which caters for women who wish to play netball during the week days. This gives them an opportunity not only to play netball, but make connections and receive support on a community level. See our facebook page, ladies daytime netball.
Fees per player are expected to be $190 each plus the cost of the uniform, $55.
We would be very grateful for any financial assistance and would continue to encourage players to return to netball and make this transition easy for them.
