Redhill Ravens

My netball dream is...

Redhill Ravens is a small netball club entering its 3rd year into the Bruce Pullman comp. Originally a Softball only club, the founder Stacey Te Kawa branched out into Basketball, and then Netball 3 years ago. This is my 2nd year playing for Ravens; and last year was the best year of Netball I've had in the 16 years I've played. Because of how small our netball branch is, funding is extremely tight and self reliant on the players. We constantly try to find sponsorship and fund-raise where we can. Ravens started in 2017 with 1 x Senior Team and last year we managed to have two senior teams with the top team finishing at 3rd place in Prem 1 (not bad for a bunch of ladies that had never played together). This year we have managed to gather two very strong teams that we are confident will both make prem and RPL, and do well. We currently only have 1 x set of dresses (only enough for one team) which all need work as they no longer hold the bibs. And 5 x balls which have all lost their grip and don't maintain their "pump" ANZ helping would allow us to get a new set of dresses, and hopefully have enough for two gear bags with at least 6 x balls per bag. Last year we were definitely known as the under dogs. No one knew who we were and we ended up winning all our games by 40+ points. From this we sparked a lot of interest and is now how we have two solid teams. If we can manage a better "look" in terms of the equipment every team should have, the hope is that we will spark interest in younger generations and expand the club from two Prem teams to some college, Intermediate and junior teams. Please consider us; our founder Stacy does a lot of Mahi to ensure we all have whats needed. This would relief some pressure from her, and allow her to enjoy this season as a stress-free player. Kind Regards, Cerise
