My netball dream is...

Our Netball dream is to thank Ann Hay, who organises all of the Netball at our school. Ann is amazing, and manages to do so many things for us. She is coaching some of the Year 6 Netball players to be able to umpire games, gives equipment to the school, sends out weekly newsletters, organises our teams, coordinates with all the team coaches, professionally umpires the Pulse, helps other schools, helps over 70 children from the age of seven to eleven play Netball, coaches parents to umpire, and still manages to have fun! “I first met Ann when I volunteered to coach netball in 2014. The support that Ann offers at both school and community level, has continued to impress me not only for her passion of netball. But more so for her portrayal and availability as a trusted netball figure for any and all that seek her advice and direction.” says Janette - year 6 netball coach. “Ngaio School is incredibly lucky to have Ann Hay as a school parent and netball guru in the local community. Ann has provided valuable advice to me as a team coach and she helped out as a guest coach at our Year 5 netball practise this year. Her confidence and netball knowledge was inspiring and all the girls lifted their play and enthusiasm under her guidance. The hours Ann puts into helping our school with weekly newsletters, selecting teams, answering questions and much much more is hugely appreciated.” says Bindy, a year 5 coach. These are only some of the things that Ann does for Ngaio School. She also helps out with Raroa too. The full list would take too long, so we’ll give you a short list. She is a selector for Raroa Intermediate, coaches the Year 8B team at Raroa, spent a day examining Introductory Umpires at NSN, we’re pretty sure she has mentored junior umpire in our NWC competition and ran a coaches workshop for Raroa Intermediate! She is an international netball umpire, and a mother to three kids. Ann travels to places like Botswana to umpire, and still manages Ngaio and Raroa netball. Ann is spending the weekends at Newlands to support our school! To add to all this, Ann never asks for money to support our school and community. Seriously, Ann is a miracle! We think that she would really appreciate giving her a surprise thank-you card and a dinner out along with a big thank-you cake. Ann is absolutely amazing and one of her friends had trouble writing a list of what she has done for us. “To be honest she does so blimmin’ much it is hard to remember it and write it down!” Ann’s friend Kelly says. Ann is so helpful and kind and we just want to give her a present as a thank-you. It would also be so cool if our school could get some new netball equipment to help us get better. We hope that you consider us. Help us thank this amazing woman!
