Fairfield College Open A Netball Team
My netball dream is...
The Fairfield College Open A team has been entered into the Upper North Island Secondary Schools (UNISS) tournament which is played in Auckland from the 3rd September 2017-8th September 2017.
The girls have been fundraising to make it as affordable as possible for their famillies to cover the costs of $3100-00, which includes entry , umpire fee, accommodation, transport and food for the team. We were hoping to also be able to purchase matching gear bags and warm up shirts for the team but it looks like we may be short unfortunately. We have kept our cost to a bare minimum by staying at Marae and travelling via a school van. We are a low decile school and our community struggles with paying these expenses and this sometimes puts experiences like this out of reach for some of our students, This is where an ANZ dream comes into play. Our dream would be to arrive at the Tournament, showing that we are a team ready to be remembered not only for our play on the court and our team spirit but also a team who is extremely proud to be representing its school and community and having full uniform and matching gear bags would be the icing on the cake.
To surprise the girls and their famillies with gear bags and warm up shirts to compliment their playing uniform would give me as their school sport coordinator and team manager and our community a huge amount of pride and a great reward for the girls who have worked so hard with their fundraising.
