My netball dream is...
We hope ANZ can help realise our netball dreams for the children of Churchill Park School. Netball is the most popular sport at our school, with about 100 children taking part (that’s nearly a quarter of our school population). This application has been put together by a group of netball players ranging in age from 7 – 12, their parents who coach and manage and the teachers at our school. Our netball teams range over 6 different years. At present we have 12 netball teams, we have one uniform for years 3 and 4, a different uniform for year 5 and a different uniform again for our years 6,7 and 8 netball players. We are in desperate need of new uniforms but especially for our more senior teams. The players are currently in netball dresses that are over 5 years old, the valcro doesn’t work and we are very very limited on sizes. As the sport becomes more popular, we struggle each year to find a netball uniform for each player. A bigger problem now is that we do not have enough variety in sizes and our girls are having to squeeze into uniforms that are too short and too tight. Involving our children in sport is about having fun but also about building confidence, we are aware that self image is an issue, our players feel very self conscious when wearing a netball dress that is too tight and too small, especially when bodies are changing and developing. We want our players to feel good about themselves and take pride in their school. We would love to be able to provide them with new uniforms to make this dream a reality. Please help us!
