My netball dream is...
In 2017 our big dream is to be promoted to B grade at the Upper North Island Secondary Championships (UNISS)
The UNISS 2017 Tournament will be held at the Auckland Netball Centre from Sep 4th to 8th.
We seek your support in helping our girls continue to excel in the sport they love. We are asking for $4,000 to effectively accommodate our team so they perform the best they can.
Kelston Girls' College (KGC) is the only state secondary school for young women in West Auckland and has a strong tradition of excellence in academic, cultural and sporting endeavours. Currently we have an U17 Netball Waitakere representative player, 3 other players with representative experience, 2 players who represented at the International Trans-Tasman Secondary School Netball Tournament (held in Fiji), an Under 15 NZ Indoor Netball player representing NZ in the International tournament held in South Africa and the 2016 Waitakere School Sportsperson of the Year attending KGC, all of whom play for the Premier team.
Our Premier team have gone from strength to strength. Starting in Premier grade 2 last year, they have worked their way up to Grade 1 at Netball Waitakere’s school competition. We were promoted to C grade at Upper North Island Secondary School (UNISS) Championships.
This year we are seeking financial funding to help us compete in this competition which is renowned as a key platform to develop netball and create a sense of pride and provides social contribution to the local community. In sponsoring the KGC Premier Netball team, you will be enhancing the gifts and talents within our community.
The girls in our team are already heavily committed financially to their representative teams nationally and internationally and any assistance will help immensely.
The impact of this would be two pronged as we would continue the legacy of sporting success within the school and continue the leadership model we have within the school. This in hand would leave a lasting impact on the wider Kelston community therefore giving future students a sense of pride that they have contributed to the overall well being of the area.
