My netball dream is...
Kia Ora :)
My name is Alyshea Tuhakaraina and I would love ANZ to help my team STRICKTLY SOCIAL fulfill our netball dream to get dresses so we can play in Kurangaituku 2017.
We are a new team who have become so close over a short space of time I feel I have 11 new sisters. My girls are hardworking. We have done 2 very large, successful fundraisers with the help of our community, friends & family. "Waihis biggest burger meal challenge" & "Hangi". These funded team tshirts & hoodies, season fees, entry into Kurangaituku, travel and accomodation in Rotorua for 12. We thought we were sorted however once we received aplication forms we realised we need proper playing uniforms (full dresses or skirts/singlets). We are running out of time to do another fundraiser and although we have very supportive friends and families we don't want to exhaust them for more funding.
Our team is made up of females who all share the same passion. That is to play. We help each-other strive to be the best we can be and always put our families first. We play outdoor social netball on Wednesday nights and most of our games are at 8.30pm. No matter how late, how cold or how many children we have to bring, we all take it seriously and make an effort to be there every week. This effort has paid off as we have made the A grade for the first time (top division out of 4 grades). After a team vote we decided to step it up a notch, challenging ourselves by entering "Kurangaituku 2017".
We would love ANZ to be a part of our journey to play in Kurangaituku 2017 for the first year. To some these may be just uniforms. But to us these uniforms will represent the start of a club that has many young girls who look upto us. A club who will guide, support and teach our babies to have compassion, dream big and chase them with everything they have.
